Burning to dvd

Hi, I attempted to burn a film to dvd using Nero, my last attempt with another film was worked. When I burn this one it finishes and says it was successul however when I try to play it back there is sound but no picture. The file plays from the hard drive but when it is put on dvd I get only sound, could anyone help me with this, I am completely confused

Try installing the divx codecs and see if you get video.

Thanks for you reply, I have dix x installed on my computer, the film worked fine when played from my harddrive but when on nero as it was showing no picture, then when I attempted to play it as a dvd in my dvd player, there was only sound, no picture, other dvd's have worked fine.

what media player are you using to play it (or try to play it)?

Try using media player classic, works with a lot of video formats that others don't

To play media files I usually use VLC media player, every film I have works fine with this, when I copy this file to DVD and try to play on the dvd player is when I have the problem
