On the newer boards the process of rasing the fsb is automatic over the old fuss about seeing the memory clock adjusted according the cpu and memory that was installed. These two things determine the speed the board will run at.
With a new build here using performance memory the one thing needed to be done to see the memory nothing to do with the cpu already seen as the 3ghz AMD model was to manually set the dram timings in the bios so that the board would see the DDR2 800 as 800 not 667mhz memory. This was due to the faster timings over using value memory there.
