Buy comp now w/ XP, upgrade to Vista later...or just wait altogether for Vista?

I am going to buy a new computer...all I am waiting for is the release of Vista. I don't know much about computers and this may sound crazy but I feel like if I buy a computer now with XP and upgrade to Vista later it will just clutter up the computer and maybe cause problems down the road. So the only thing holding me back is that I want to wait to buy the computer so that I get it with Vista already loaded on it as the only OS ever on the computer. Is there really any reason for me to do this or am I just being naive?

What will you be using your computer for?

If you can wait until Vista is out and you are just dying to have Vista, then just wait for it. I don't really see a right or wrong answer here. If it were me, I would wait til Vista comes out. Then, if you want XP at that time, you can always get it for a decent price and have both OS installed with double-boot option.

On the other hand, if you get a computer now and later on you want to buy Vista, it would cost you more than XP would.
