Buy Or Wait?

Hey guys. I just now heard of the new sockets and CPU's that are coming out for AMD. I wanted to ask, should I wait until they come out and have top of the line technology before most people? Or should I buy my computer now? However, if I wait I could have more money and get a nicer computer and Windows Vista will also be out by then.

If you have a computer that can run the games you want right now I would wait. I replaced my geforce 4 MX, 2 Ghz P4, 256 Mb RAM rig with what I have now, but my geforce 4 Ti, 2.4 Ghz P4, 512 Mb RAM rig can still run new games, albeit on low, so I'm going to wait for AM2 before I replace it.

I think that is what I'm going to do. Right now I have an old s478 2.66ghz P4, 1GB DDR 333 RAM, 6600GT 128mb GDDR3 memory, and an old Gigabyte mobo. I think I can wait 6 months...

buying top of the line hardware is always very expensive, and surely not the best bang for the buck
I'd wait till the newest hardware is released, and then buy the 'outdated' hardware for much less that is how i bought the pc i currently have,.. and it costed me about $900 ( excluding the processor,.. but ah well, it was free. )
