Buya laptop please help

hey i am new at this forum, i want to buy me a laptop till the beginning of june, cauz after that i am leaving the us.

General Questions

1) What is your budget?
i think 800 max 900 $
2) What size notebook would you prefer?
i dont need a big laptop i am thinking about 15 zoll


3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
gaming( not more then 3 games at the same time installed) and download a little bit music
4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?
take it to some places, when i am in vacation for example
5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
soccer manager, sportgames,strategy
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
not really
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
at least 2 i think, but i can buy a other battery not that important
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
actually not
9) What country are you buying this in?
US till beginning of june and after that in Germany


10) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?


it doesent matter, should be alright i have no idea, sxga?!



11) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?

it doesnt matter, take the cheapEST one

12) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
not at all
13) How long do you want this laptop to last?

at least 2 years

14) How much hard drive space do you want; 40GB to 120GB?
about 60
15) Do you need a DVD, DVD-CD/RW or DVD-R drive?
it can be with dvd burner, only cd is enough too.

are there any deals at best buy, circuit city or walmart?
and when are coming the new laptops out? maybe then there are some good and cheap ones?
i heard that there are some summer deals, cauz students who are going to college buying new ones

Well Keep in mind that plugs are different in Europe which i think you already know.But if i were you I would Get a Core Duo with a decent graphics card otherwise you should be covered most laptops in your price range meet the rest of your requirements.

And Buy off Newegg.com you will get alot more bang for your buck.
 
well i dunno you need to look at newegg and bestbuys and look at the other laptop threads. for about 900 you can get a reasonable laptop, you need to just look at these sites and give us some of your proposed laptops. and then we can tell if good or not.
 
Does that mean you wont be needing it when you travel out? Or will you be taking it with you... Or leaving it to a family member and never return? ... I know, weird questions... but yeah..

If any of that apply, I'd say just get something that will be able to play your games sufficiently and save the extra cash for your travel.

If not, like the guys/gals said.. Shop around.. Some sites you can check out are:

shop around and take tags of one you like.. then shop around again for that specific one and try to find the price that suite you best.
 
There was some deal to get laptops and desktops from dell at 40%, and 50% respectfully. I saw it on Digg. I thought it expired like on friday. Ill have to look.
 
alright i will buy one of them, what should i add to this laptop? i dont know, would be very nice if u could tell me what i should upgrade?
 
Well, I assume you will use it with a wireless connection, so a network card. I will customize a dell for you, tell me what you think.

Looking for clock speeds and fill rates for accurate comparison, sofar looks like a pretty strong card.

EDIT:
Couldnt find clock speeds but it is faster than the x600 for desktops, so it should run games like warcraft or whatever you play 1280 x 1024 max no sweat. Could play BF2, doom 3, CSS, pretty good card for a laptop.
