Buying 2 new harddrives

Hey CF! Merry Christmas!

I'm planning on buying two 1TB HDDs to back up photos and videos from my family's computers for safe keeping (five computers altogether, different cities).

I plan to go with internal drives since they are cheaper and I already have a SATA to USB adapter.

I plan on copying all of the data to one, then the other, and then store them in separate locations. I'll do this every 6 months or so.

Eventually I'll buy two larger internal HDDs and stick them on my server, implement RAID and set their computers to back up to the server across the Internet every so often - but I'm just not prepared to do that right now.

So I was thinking 2 of these would do the job: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136490

May I get your thoughts?

Thanks!

Hrmmm - yeah, you're probably right. I didn't realize the WDs I linked were only 5400RPM... compared to the F3s which are 7200RPM... I wonder though, since the F3 has only a 32MB cache and the WDs have a 64MB cache which would be faster?
