Buying a CPU and Motherboard

Is there anything new I should wait for. I have read in the forum about the 45nm
technology coming out on Jan. 20th. Isn't the 45nm technology out already???
 
Yeah but there hasnt been a big official debut, which occurs January 20th. I think currently the only 45nm chips are the Core2Extremes and they are around $1000 USD. Hopefully this release will have cheaper prices for those of us with standard budgets.
