Im looking to buy a laptop for gaming and because im not very experienced at this i have had some problems. I live in Puerto Rico which makes buying online a bit hard since not everyone ships here but i think i found a computer i could buy.

http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-G71GX-RX05-17-1-Inch-Refurbished-Laptop/dp/B002RTL32Q

I think i could afford that computer (my budget is 1k) but i have a few questions and if anyone could help that would be great.

Is Asus a good company? After HP screwing me over i dont think i can stand another company like them and how good is this computer i your opinion? I have heard it has overheating issues, does anyone know about it? Because in my country its very hot and my last computer died out of overheating, i really dont want that to happen again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The G71GX has a very Good GPU, the CPU is also a good but pretty old.
Overheating can be sometimes a problem. But do you really need a laptop? A desktop with better specs can come in your 1k budget.

Hola.
