Buying a Motherboard

I've been inspired by ya'll to build a PC but I have a question... and it's most likely not my last so I apologize in advanced!

I've decided to go with the i7-2600K CPU and now am looking to buy a MOBO. How many PCI slots do I really need/ what hooks up to PCI slots?

Would something like this suffice? Keep in mind this is my first build and I'm looking to use the PC primarily for moderate video editing (not at a professional level)... Thanks!

Thanks!

I tried building quite a few PCs with cheaper motherboards and found the machines were always a bit glitchy when they were running. That was a long time ago now. After several poor builds I decided to start using Intel motherboards and that seemed to stop the glitches. I always choose Intel motherboards for this reason. But having not tried the other brands for a long time I suppose it's possible they've improved.

Gigabyte, Asus, and ASrock are the top 3 makers of good boards, MSI would be next in line. PCI slots will eventually be phased out of motherboard for the new standard PCI-Express. As far as what fits into PCI slots....

1. Soundcards
2. Network cards for when onboard network dies
3. Addon sata/Ide controller cards
4. Addon usb ports.
5. Video capture cards.

The list can go on and on. What you picked is a very popular board, should do nicely.
