Hi i am thinking of buying a new pc problem is i dont really know what to go for, ive seen this and i think it looks ok what do you guys think.

Intel Pentium 4 630 processor supporting Hyper-Threading technology (3.0Ghz clock speed, 800Mhz front side bus speed, 2Mb level 2 cache memory). 1Gb DDR2 RAM. 300Gb SATA hard drive. Dual layer DVD re-writer with Lightscribe. 17in flat panel TFT monitor. Nvidia GeForce 6200 SETC graphics with up to 256Mb. 10/100 LAN (broadband ready). Wireless keyboard and mouse. 56K modem. MS Worksuite. Microsoft Windows XP Media Centre Edition 2005 (All the features of a regular Windows-based PC plus you can store or share all of your photos, music, home video and even recorded TV). Media Center remote control. HEWLETT PACKARD

I was wanting to know if this system would support windows vista? and also giving that it is a windows xp media center does this mean that it will have a built in tv tuner?

Please help

I had a very similar system from Compaq, but with an Athlon 3700 and 80G HD. Anyway, I could run Vista just fine, but for some reason, the current drivers wouldn't allow me to use my graphics card at 1024x768@32bit. I could, however, run at higher resolutions without a problem...

And if it doesn't say it has a tuner in it, then it doesn't come with one. Media Center edition just has additional crap for pictures, videos, and what not. I actually don't care for it. However, if you want a tuner, they are cheap enough to purchase off newegg or some place like that. HPs(at least the last few I've seen) use WinTV PVRs. The one I use actually came out of a dead HP...

512MB of RAM is minimum for Vista. 1GB is recommended and you'll still get good performance out of it. You can always upgrade to 2GB after you get Vista if you feel it's needed.
