Buying a new gaming laptop. Need Advice.

I am going to buy a new laptop for gaming. I plan to do a little video editing and recording as well. I am looking at the following computer right now:

HP ENVY - 17t Laptop
4th generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4510U Dual Core Processor
4GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M Graphics
4-cell 48WHr Lithium-ion Battery
1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive + 256GB Flash Solid State Drive
17.3-inch diagonal HD+ BrightView WLED-backlit Display (1600x900)
16GB DDR3L System Memory (2 Dimm)
Windows 8.1 64

Can be found here:

My biggest concern is that the CPU will not be strong enough. I know the GPU is great.

I have also looked at this computer on a different thread on this forum:
http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/59423060-Lenovo-Y50-70-(4k)_1659194.html

However, I like the large SSD drive in the HP and don't feel like I need the 4k screen on the Lenovo. I also prefer the slightly larger screen of the HP. I also don't live in the UK which could affect my ability to buy from this sight. The price of the HP will be 20% lower than listed, because I have a coupon.

My main questions are:
-Is the CPU in the HP powerful enough?
-Will I be able to most games on mid-high settings?
-Will the battery on the HP last for a while? (not terribly concerend just wondering)
-Should I get a high-res screen? If not a 4k than the 1920x1080 offered as a config option for the HP?
-Should I have more than 2 cores if I am going to be doing recording?
-Are there other better laptops for a price similar to this? (not more than $1200)

Thank you for any help!

You can always upgrade the SSD at a later date, you cannot upgrade the GPU though. Go with the Lenovo.

Obviously the Lenovo. More memory, way better CPU (M's and U's are shit), I'd say better build quality, lighter.
It's about the same price as the HP and the main difference is the SSD, which you can switch out if you want.
