Hello all! I'm new to this forum! :] In advance, I apologize for not being very tech-savvy because my knowledge on computers in general is quite below basic. Please bear with me if I easily get lost when you are describing something to me.
Anyway, I currently have a MacBook, however, because it's about 3-4 years old now, I've decided to get a new laptop - one for my own! Before you judge me for having a Mac, I don't plan on getting a MacBook Pro, or any Apple Products for my next laptop. I like both Mac and PC as I have owned both before.
Unfortunately I don't know too much about what an i5 processor does, a good sustainable graphics card, the recommended amount of how much RAM and GHz I need/want, etc. (Though I do want to know the basics of those types of things.)
What I do know is that I want a laptop that's good enough to run Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/product/), Elder Scrolls Online, osu!, and MapleStory (http://maplestory.nexon.net/support/game-download). I also want school-related programs on it, like Microsoft Word (I've heard some laptops don't come with it anymore...?), a webcam, a reasonable size and weight, Optical Drive (I've seen some laptops where you can't even put in CD/DVD's...), And of course, I want the laptop to last me quite long.
As for budget and other limitations, I'm trying to stay around the $1000 range. I might go to Best Buy today, so I've only looked at laptops from Best Buy specifically. I'm trying to match the features of the laptop with the system requirements of the games I want to play, but sometimes I get a little lost. I've also taken quite an interest in touch-screen laptops, like this one:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP---Sp...lver/9432051.p?id=1219018164751&skuId=9432051
So yeah, any suggestions, please? Try to recommend me something from Best Buy first, and if you don't see anything you think is good, then go on and suggest something from somewhere else.
P.S. I really don't need anything super high-end/state of the art quality. Don't go too overboard with your suggestions, I'm not looking for the best laptop in the world! I just need something that's good enough to meet the expectations I listed.
Thanks in advance! Sorry for the long post!
