Hi,
I am looking to buy myself a new pc later this year, and came across this site:
http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/
It seemed like a great site, and the prices seemed cheap enough so I had a go at making a pc to see how much it would cost me. I'm on quite a tight budget, about £500, although i could push that up a little if I needed to. I want the computer mainly for gaming, so a nice powerfull graphics card is needed, I think a geforce 7600 should be good enough for my needs. Anyway, heres the pc I chose:
Processor (CPU)
AMD SEMPRON™ 3500+ (2000MHz) HTT/128K L2 Cache (AM2 Socket)
Memory (RAM)
2048 MB CORSAIR DDR2 800MHz - LIFETIME WARRANTY! (2x1GB)
Motherboard
ASUS® M2N8-VMX: DUAL DDR 2, SATA II, 1 x PCI-E x8, 2 PCI etc
Operating System
WINDOWS® XP Home (inc. Genuine CD & License) (£59)
Memory - 1st Hard Disk
80GB SERIAL ATA II HARD DRIVE WITH 8MB CACHE (7200rpm)
Graphics Card
256MB GEFORCE 7600GS PCI Express + DVI + TV-OUT
Sound Card
6 Channel Realtek ALC883 High Definition Audio (Onboard)
Network Facilities
WIRELESS 108Mbps NETWORK CARD (£12)
Power Supply & Case Cooling
STANDARD 350W PSU with CASE FAN
Processor Cooling
SUPER QUIET 22 dBA AMD CPU COOLER (£14)
Monitor
19 INCH TFT Silver/Black 1280 x1024 8MS D-Sub, DVI, Audio (£105)
Costing £542 inc. Vat and delivery.
Are there any suggestions of this I dont really need, I'd like to save a bit, although i can't see anything I can really take away, or if there are any other things I need. One of the options on the webiste was something called a DVI cable, Do I need one, and what does it do?
Thanks,
Matt.
