Buying a new router?

If i buy a new router depending on which one i buy will it increase my wireless speed and connectivity?
 
Which one are you going to get send a link as if its a higher speed like 200mps then its going to be faster than a 54mps and have better connectivity.
 
Do you mean a wireless router? If so, then it will only increase the speed and range if the new router uses a newer standard (i.e. 802.11n vs 802.11g), has higher gain and better placed antenna's, etc. If you are going from another 802.11b wireless router to another, then most likely no you won't see a difference.
 
That still doesn't tell us anything, do they both use the same wireless standard (i.e. 802.11g)?
