buying a video card

I haven't researched the market of video cards in quite sometime now. I was wondering if anyone had cards in mind that I could research. I'm looking for a video card for gaming purposes at around $250. I don't have a preferance for nvidea or ati so either would do fine. If you have recommendations please share them.

I have found a card that I think would be quite suitable. But then again, thats just my opinion.
You could probably find a card that was more suited to what you want for a cheaper price. But I found this to be pretty good.

I would go for the 8800GTS, but I would still hold off for a few months before plunging in.
