Buying laptop for basic programming

Hello,
I would like to buy a laptop that will be good for basic programming.
My budget is 1000 SGD [about 800 USD].
I would preferrably have 4GB of RAM and an Intel i3/i5/i7 processor.

why not just go for an i3 if your not going to use it for games?

because an 15 still has more speed, and with an i3 he will have to upgrade sooner. with an i5 he will not need to upgrade for a longer time.
