well, i have 2x 512mb corsair (it says CMX512-3200C2, been told thats pc-3200, though i dont know what the CMX means) in daul channel.

I am wondering why it is at 200mhz speed when i see pc-3200 is usually at 400mhz.

I am wanted to ask what RAM i should get to make 2 gigs. Shuld i get one stick of OCZ 1gig pc-3200 gold/titanium/silver or 2x 512mb? These will be next to the corsair so i need to know if it will work.

Thanks in advance for replies

PC3200 is 200MHz but since it transfers 2x per wave it is 400MHz equivalent and most people say its 400MHz so it sounds faster. Any 2 512MB modules should work for getting to 2GB in dual channel.

people will say different brands dont work good together, and ive found that to be true (at least in my one case of mix and match ram). one is texas instruments and the other is...well, i dont know. but its only running at about 148 mb right now (out of 2x256), so sometime tomorrow ill have to take out the no name one...and it wouldnt hurt to put it in the first slot. dont worry about the frequency, pc3200 is pc3200. everybody has marketing tricks, especially with speeds of things. its fast enough though.
