Buying New Computer

not bad i think that you should look at a different g card cause that one will not be great for games

It's definitely not good for gaming unless you buy a reasonable graphics card with it. The $700 gaming system in Computer Specs 101 is vastly superior, and even if you don't want to build it yourself, either a local PC store, or an online store like monarch computers will build it for you.

yea i wuld try building a comp at ibuypower.com or cyberpower.com. if u do, u wont end up with some cheap hp case or mobo.

What would you consider a reasonable graphics card to upgrade to and how much would it cost.

Oh, and could you tell me if the system I listed above already has two cpu's and two graphic cards or is it just setup to use two of each? Thanks

If you buy and install a new video card, then it will be an excellent gaming computer. I highly recommend buying a gfx card from newegg, and not bestbuy.

I know it is over your $1000 limit, but I highly suggest getting a (in order of performance:
6600GT, X800GTO, 6800GS, 7800GT

Don't get anything less than the 6600GT.

How much would you be willing to spend, and what sort of gaming would you be looking to get from it? (e.g., are you happy with medium settings at 800*600, or are you looking for 1600*1200 @ max). Whatever the case, Video Card 101 provides some good choices.

One Dual Core CPU, and no graphics card (just integrated).

i thought the card was 128mb dedicated and u can use another 128 shared optional

"ATI's decided that the Athlon 64's peculiar architecture and excellent performance would be the perfect base for a do-it-all chipset. It has thus split its XPRESS 200 into two groups; one with an integrated graphics core (XPRESS 200) and one without (XPRESS 200P)"

have you looked at these sites ?

cyberpowerpc.com
monarchcomputer.com

these are giving me some great ideas. i wanted to build but right now unsure whether to or not compared to what i can get from these.

let us know.

I want a computer that will cost about $1000 that will play games as well as be able to do reports and such and browsing the net. I thought about this system here but don't know.
If it's an option, find a local small computer store and get them to build you a general purpose machine fitting your budget as per Computer Specs 101 and pay some service charge :) (or build it yourself and avoid the service cahrge)
