Hey guys, I'm new on the forum, so hi everyone!

I'm thinking about buying a computer, and I want it for games, maybe to work, but mainly gaming.
I tough about getting something with 16 GB or 32 GB RAM (depending on price) DDR3, 1 or 2 video cards GTX 680 2 GB, or GTX 670 2 GB, 1 SSD 240 gb for system, intel i7, I want a good one, but not the latest and most expensive one...
Could you guys help me with some build for these, like what kind of motherboard will be the best choice, case, etc. Also if you think I will need anything else.
About the budget, I will evaluate it depending on cost/performance. But I think nothing more than 3000, 3500 I guess, if I can get something price/performance, that will be perfect.

Thanks, look forward to your comments.

You only need 8GB and an i5 for gaming, but I guess if you've got 3500 to spend then an i7 and 16GB would be good.

I'll get you something up soon, bit busy right now.

Thanks man. I will also use it for work (3d Artist for game and fx) so I need lots of ram and a powerful cpu too, not the best one, cuz it's super expensive also, but something good. Thanks!

Ah ok, yeah I'm thinking 3770K and 16GB would be pretty good. I'll get you something up soon!

Right ok, it's below budget.

LG DVD-RW http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136254

Comes to $1,957,90.

How does it all look? There are ways of saving money if you want to, but I think that's a good build. You could even get another 680 and another 16GB of RAM if you like and it'd come to around $2500 total.

That's perfect man! Thanks!
Would you recommend 2 video cards? What about the 670? It's cheaper, and Tom's hardware (always check that one ;) comparisons on a SLI setup isn't that different in performance.
I also was thinking about getting a 3d monitor, any suggestions?
Oh, btw, the case is not in the stores here in Canada :(, any other one?

Thanks man, really appreciate your help!

Disadvantage of SLI could be that you're dealing with 2 GPUs instead of 1 GPU, thus louder fans?! and greater power consumption?!

Also, try NCIX. I live in Canada too and they usually have the best deal.
CanadaComputers usually have good deals with SSD and HDD

I wouldn't really recommend two cards. If you wanted something more powerful, consider the GTX 690. It's a dual-GPU card. That'd be great. It's two GPUs on a single card. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121636 yeah it's expensive I know, but it'd be cooler and quieter than two 680s or two 670s.

I don't really know about monitors, but if you can get a normal NZXT Phantom or a Fractal Design Define XL or anything from Corsair or Lian-Li that'd be great.

Perfect, I'll try that, thanks!

I had problems with SLI in the past, too much noise and heating, any solutions for 2x 670? I was planning on buying 2 of these http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130802

Yea, I have the GTX 670 FTW (1006MHZ) not the LE version, came with Free Borderlands 2 @ $400 about 2-3 months ago. The price in your link isn't THAT great because I've seen cheaper on NCIX. If you go to NCIX right now, you can find Gigabyte's GTX 670 OC version for $340, pretty much the same performance as that to GTX 670 FTW. Check out NCIX weekly, they have surprise weekly sales, usually have good items in there.

As Spirit mentioned, might as well just go 1 x GTX 690 which will LITERALLY kill every game that exists on this planet. It costs about $900+ I think, haven't really seen anybody use it before :S. This is like... equivalent to having 3x GTX 670+....

Try not to SLI.... SLI is probably the best option if you're upgrading an existing computer, not when you build from scratch.

I agree with just one more powerful card rather than 2 weaker ones. If you need the power. Get a 690.

Just build it yourself according to what you're looking for. It will cost you much cheaper and you'll get what you want to.
