Buying new system or building one?

Today is a happy day 25k just got deposited in my bank, let the shopping begin!! OH BTW the macs have crappy video card and the guy told me they should annouce jan 8th all the new products for mac and he said the 8800 should be one of them.

well i already have 2gb corsair xms not dominator but I could just add another 2gb right? and 1 more raptor to have the raid 0?
I think my mobo supports the quad core? maybe someone can confirm this? If it does I dont have to buy a new mobo right?
Just get the QX6700, 2gb ram, 1x raptor and a 8000GTX and that should upgrade my system pretty nicely right?
Oh and a new LCD screen.

question is: are you trying to build a whole new system yet? because the system I spec'd is basically as good as it gets...

well correct me if Im wrong but from other people have said my current system isnt to bad and just to tweak it a little? I really like the idea of being able to buy a mac and update my PC.
What I dont want is I go spend let just say 5k and then I find out its not that much/any noticable then what I already had. That would really piss me off spending that much and saying to myself "Well I can kind of see a difference". I want the "holy shit my pants" difference.

dont be stupid dont waste your money as it is your computer beats mine hands down and mine can play games near enough maxed out if i was your get the e6600 and 2x8800 you prob need at least 700w psu then and then get a nice tft monitor or lcd tv

Im not looking to compete with anyone, I just want a badass system that I can really see the difference with.

why you will only need to buy/build a new pc 4-5 years down the line theres completly no point

save that money when you DO need to buy/build a new computer down the line

yea but that can be said with anything, that how these computers work.
you buy a upgrade and in 2 weeks something new comes out :) name of the game.

up to you but it really is a waiste

EDIT do you like really loud music if so get an awesome hifi amp some floorstanding speakers or bookshelf speakers and hook it up to your computer and PUMP up the volume ive bought an amp and my dad gave me some bookshelfs and my god there uterly awesome when my familys out the house i crank it up and love every second!!!

thats the best way to go:

1) upgrade to 2x8800GTX, or wait for R600s in CF
2) go for your same WD Raptor in RAID 0, and another 250 in RAID 0
3)700 watt OCZ GameXStream, or 1k watt PSU
4)some super sick monitor
5) the new macs when they come out Jan 8

thats like 2-3k for upgrades and the rest for a new mac

I know its alot but you do get some good stuff and im getting dual LCD's, I never thought I would ever buy a dell but for some reason it does seem interesting.
I like the 4 year warranty and if something breaks they ship me a new part they told me.
It would be nice just to plug and play, I dont know if Im just getting bored of building(never thought I would say that) but its getting to be a pita.

well then what is a good computer company that I can buy a prebuilt and not have to build? and not alienware I already chk them out and no way lol

just go dell i guess
i cant believe you dont want to build. seriously though, all you need is to upgrade, 5k wont make a system thats noticeably better than yours
