What would you be unsing it for? Do you have any special features you like? Companies you dont like? With 1500-1600 you can get a good laptop...

Cad will be slow on most laptops... well shoppy anyway.

macbooks are very nice laptops, mine sure is, and it will fit nicely in your price range. You could even get a copy of windows to run it with boot camp and stay in your budget.
