Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate (Comes with box/CD/all papers)
Case: Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 (with Acoustic Dampening) - You can hardly hear it running even under maximum load
Mother Board: EVGA x58 Quad SLI
Processor: Intel Core i7 920 (Has never been overclocked)
Processor Cooler: Cooler Master V8 (Even though I do not overclock the i7, I still wanted to make it as cool (temperature wise) as possible, so I spent the extra money on this
Power Supply: Modular Thermaltake 850W (The modular PSU is really cool, you can plug and play chords to keep the case clean)
Memory: 6 Gigs of OCZ Gold 1600MHZ RAM
Harddrive: 150 GIG Western Digital Velociraptor (10000 RPM)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce 280 GTX 1 GIGABYTE DEDICATED MEMORY
Sound Card: HT Omega Striker - Gold Plated - THX


The guy selling this is asking $950, that looks very cheap so I am worried that something might be wrong with the PC. Is there anything that I should look for when I test this setup at the guys house? Anything that you think might show as a red flag that I should know about. Thanks in advance for any feedback on the subject.
 
computers can be quite cheap at times depends whos selling them, if they are looking to make most of their money back or just a decent amount.

if you have a usb flash drive i would download the portable version of SPECCY 1.09
you can get it at www.piriform.com

use it to check the spec of the pc is exactly the same as advertised

give it a decent push open a few programs at the same time and make sure it doesn`t lag.

also carefully check all the front and rear connections usb etc you could use the usb flash drive for that too, and check the audio is working front and rear

The deal is pretty good.Everything is right with that PC.
Get the PSU checked to.Use a multimeter and check the voltage in all the pins and also check the GPU and CPU temps.You might have a hot chip.Keep the PC running for an hour before buying.And check any funny noises made by the hard drive.

I bought this computer and now I need to know what should I do as far as updating. I already updated the video card drivers. Now I am thinking about the bios and windows 7 tweaks. I am using this for gaming so I want it to run fast and smooth. Not sure that it needs to be overclocked so I am not worried about that. What I do want is for the temperatures to stay low, and I want the videocard to run cooler during gameplay. I installed Rivatuner but I havnt read up on it yet to see how to configure the fanspeeds.

Looking for someone computer savy to fill me in. Thanks again for any help.
