there is a video that I would like to see on youtube thats only available for american people, is there anyway to fool youtube that my internet connection is situated in usa?
If there is how?

you could use a proxy server based in america but typically flash stuff and junk that is imbeded in the page doesn't work with those.

someone else mentioned proxy stuff to, I don't know what it is, I assume I hookup to a place in the states which hooks me up, where can I do this? It's not a flash vid, it's a animated series and I think they signed with sony or some thing and they promised daily episodes but then it was delayed by like half a year and now only us viewes can view it. Please elaborate on the proxy stuff

sorry I did not know proxy server were illegall, I don't really know what it is...
Is there any legal way to watch a us only video?

well in reality this is really a grey area because if you think about it there are many many videos that turn up on youtube that are copyrighted and yet they still show up and not all of them are removed. In reality if you think about it youtube is a copyright nightmare so i don't really see how you can go and jump on this fellow for trying to watch a copyrighted video on a website that does nothing but infringe copyright laws. Granted this is because of the users who post copyrighted material. I don't really see how using an anonymizing proxy server to view a website would be illegal because in reality the computer that is getting the content is getting it legally because it resides in the united states, i don't see how what that computer then does with the content is a big deal because the content was initially retreived legally. Really discussing these topics that are grey areas is probably a good thing and shouldn't be shut down, thats just my opinion. I'd like to see what other people have to say on this issue.

That should answer your question.
