C2D build

Sweetness

Nice I like it. I'd upgrade the mobo from the S3 to the DS3. Has better capacitors on it. Other than that it's p1mp. Immenent PWNAGE Seal of Approval. :D

I can't say about the cooler but I bought it for my friends build. It was easy to use. His is OC'd to 2.9ghz. I just read a review on anantech with the new F9 bios (his has F7) ppl are reaching 3.5ghz easy. As for the cooler I can't say. But I think the S3 and DS3 layouts are the same. Take a look at the pics of them.

Oh okay well sounds good thanx for the help

get a 700 watt OCZ GameXStream, more power and you will need it for the 8800, and I would go for DDR2 800 instead of 667

The GameXStream 700W is another good PSU capable of putting out a little more power, but the Corsair is modular, more efficient, and with better build quality. It's more than sufficient for a single 8800, i'd stick with it.

It means that you can unplug the cables you don't need.

wow, thats a sweet idea! im finding me a modular PSU. are they generally a ton more expensive? (helps boost thread by helping grim decide if he wants a modular for the extra cash)

At newegg they can range from farly cheap to expensive look around I mostly choose this type since i wanted good ventalation and more space with the cables not being everywhere
