C2D or Pentium D

I don't want to get a pentium d. They are terrible. I can get a core 2 duo but i don't to risk it not working. Mobo is Intel 945GTP and supports the low-end C2D's and some higher ones with a BIOS upgrade, apparently.

What to do?

yeah me too, but i have seen threads on other sites saying that the 945 chipsets don't work with C2D cause for voltage regulation or something. but apparently all 965 and some 975 boards work with C2D...why did i have to buy a dud board....lol:(

so the e4xxx conroes...very limited...what about an allendale core? they don't have virtualization or as much L2 Cache.
