If anyone can help me fix my computer I would be eternally grateful and indebted.
A while ago, my computer had a problem and lost a load of data, though it all still seemed to be in the computer, but somehow lost, and I managed to recover the data using Recuva software.
The problem now is that my hard drive is almost full - I have a capacity of 70GB and only have 6GB free. At least this is what happens when I go into 'My Computer' and click on properties for the C Drive. But, when I double click on the C Drive and look at the directories and files, they only add up to about 25GB.
The figure of 25GB should really be a more accurate figure given that I do not have any large files, etc and keep files such as photographs external to hard drive. Is it that there are some files and/or directories that do not show up?
Also, when I look through the search function of My Computer, many of the files seem to be present twice, yet deleting one deletes both.
So, the upshot is that my computer is over 90% full according the My Computer properties and is gradually slowing to a snail's pace. Is there anything I can do to fix what I feel is a problem inside the computer and generally make the computer faster.
