CA Security

My friend has a HP computer that has Vista installed. Every time the computer boots up a window comes up with CA Security has stopped working and another window says that the Common Event Manager has stopped working. What causes this? Can I just delete CA Security and not reinstall it to fix the problem. There is already Norton Internet Security installed on it. Are both of these necessary?

Yes, you can uninstall it and you shouldn't have 2 antivirus programs installed at the same time as it causes problems. In fact I would uninstall norton as well and install a free program such as Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials.

After I uninstall CA Security will this take care of the Common Event Manager problem?

It may or may not, but I'm assuming it should since having an issue with CA.
