Cable that allows me stream Movies to TV

Hi all.

I want to Stream Movies from my PC to my TV which is 12M away.
A friend is doing this with his Laptop using an HDMI to HDMI Cable ( short distance). However, I don't have an HDMI Output on the back of my PC. What I do have is a 24 Pin Female Plug marked CD, A 9 Pin Male D Plug marked with 2 small Circles and a Round 9 Pin Female Socket marked S-Video. I also have 6 USB Ports 4 on Back 2 on Front.
Is it possible for me to achieve what i'm trying to do, with what I have available?

If it's possible what kind of interface Cable do I need?

Many thanks.

Steve.

Does your TV have that cable output for video on the back of it like you have on the back of you computer? If not I would just recommend picking picking up a cheap GPU with an HDMI hookup like the GT 520 I have in my signature, they're fairly cheap of you could get something even cheaper.

Hi Casey.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Yes I do have the same S-Video Socket on the Side and Back of the TV. Is that a better option than the Interface you suggested? I am completely clueless on this stuff and relying totally on some like yourself, pointing me in the right direction.

Your input is very much appreciated.

Steve.

David's option would be the best.
If you want to use a svideo cable, you will need a sound out to the TV, unless you have a fairly decent sound system on your computer.

Thanks for this info Guys. It's appreciated.
Just one thing though. Are you saying that the Sound will be OK with just the HDMI to DVI M/M Cable?

Steve.
