cable tv and pc?

The TV Tuner will come with the software you need. Some come with actual remotes that you can use to change the channels. Also, the software they come with will usually have a TV Guide app and some sort of DVR function (like Tivo). You might want to do some research about them before you purchase one to see what you want in a TV Tuner. Some are digital, some are analog, etc. The better ones are digital. Just make sure it has the input that your cable uses (usually coaxial, unless you have HD service).

yeah axactly what the guys said, just a Tv tuner,i actualy have a Avermedia Volar Usb tuner which is HDTV ready and is realy good.

however many of them provide you with a little antenna, they are no good whatsoever as theyre too small and dont pick up half the channels so you would be best connecting it to your houses main antenna like i have then you will have a strong signal.

If you have vista, the media center is very slick and works just like tivo. I run a tv tuner with two tuners, don't know name of it (see sig) and it works out really slick so I don't have to get tivo for my cable, it just saves them to the hard drive.
