I'm 16 and I need a cheap rendering/CAD computer but I'm saving for a car. I can't spend too much on this computer so I need suggestion on good but cheap computer hardware. It will but used for Solidworks, SketchUp, Kerkythea and other 3D software

It needs to be upgradeable for the future

Specs as of now:
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 - $89.99
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 Conroe 2.33GHz LGA 775 - $169.99
Antec earthwatts EA430 ATX12V v2.0 430W - $49.99 (is there a better PSU for the money/will it handle this system???)
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 - $44.99
Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600AAJS 160GB 7200RPM - $48.99
Microsoft Windows XP Professional With SP2C - $134.99
And maybe a monitor

Total: $538.94

^^^ not too bad for $496.94 (w/o MIR)^^^

But I NEED XP Pro, Solidworks won't run on anything less, so + $21

That Psu looks kinda crapy(I wouldn't trust it), so + $23

You're right where I'm at for budget (I kinda wanted a P35 mobo too) thanks for your help anyways

Will that PSU be able to handle the system I suggested??

Also what about the GPU?

If your going for a CAD PC I would look at the nvidia Quadro cards, though they will put a dent in your wallet!

I'm thinking of running to a local computer shop and see if they have any cheap/used GPUs and if they don't then I'll get one off newegg

ghost - I don't need a quadro but it would be nice :)
