Call of Duty - WOW - I keep getting killed by grenades

What am I supposed to do when I see the grenade land near me. I usually hit - G and sometimes it throws the grenade back - other times - I throw one of my grenades and end up getting blown up.

It's my most frequent cause of death - does anybody have some advice as to what I s hould be doing when I see a Grenade warning show up on my screen.

Shift+W in the opposite direction...
 
Forget throwing it back, you always gotta run because there is no way to know if it's cooked or not.

I find it annoying that throw grenade and throw back grenade are the same button. I've died numerous times just because I happen to be trying to throw a grenade at the same time one lands near me. Often, it won't make the sound or show the indicator if I hit it at the same time that it lands near me, so I'll be trying to cook what I think is my grenade and then it blows up prematurely.
 
always run. When you get around to wanting to do the return to sender challenge then chuck em back until you do it, and do expect to be killed a good few times because of cooked nades, but you will get it :P
