cam USB in the network

Hello,
I have buy an usb-webcam and i want to see it on my network and on internet.
the sound is not inportant.I just want to see the video.
How can i do this?

you need to buy a webcam that can be assigned an IP address, then you put the IP in a web browser and view it... for over the internet you need to get your public ip and make arule in your firewall to forward port 80 (probably) to the IP of your camera. alternatively if you just have a usb cam with out network capabilities you can install remote control software on the computer and look at it that way. i dont personally know of any software that makes a usb camera network-able
