Can anybody tell me anything about a...

Pentium® D Processor 915 with Dual Core Technology 2.8 ghz. I just bought a computer with that, 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz- 2DIMMs, Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3000, and 80GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™. Is this decent enough for internet usage and running vista?

I run a single core AMD64 3500+ Socket 939 model cpu with 2gb of DDR400 with both 32bit versions of XP along side Vista Home Premium without problems so far. Gee? I've been waiting all this time for the prices to drop on one of two dual core AMD models to give this system a boost. But you won't want Vista quite so soon! I ought to know from running it.

it was the only option with the PC. I would have been happy having the option to upgrade while having windows XP on it. Owell, im sure theyll address the problems as people complain, just like every other OS!

I'm currently running Vista now without problems since the sound situation was at least temporarily solved. But forget about running too many of the application you are familiar with. Just like going from 95 to ME in one stride Vista seems limited on backward capability. XP could be installed on a Fat16 partition. The only one constant from MSDos 5.0 to Vista is what DosBox brings back to life in an 8bit pc game about 15-17yrs. old namely Duke Nukem. http://img143.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dukehigherscorewo3.jpg :P

That didn't go so well when the 16bit Duke3D was tried however. http://img406.imageshack.us/my.php?image=duke3dstallinghi9.jpg You couldn't even move when the game map was finished loading. :( And that was a classic oldie there.

It will be fine except this, Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3000, I would suggest getting a better video card instead of the onboard!

Have you installed vista? If yes, what score do you get for your graphics in the performance rater?

1) The screen shots there were taken showing the Vista desktop in the background. 2) The MSI Radeon X1300 Pro 256mb PCI-E model here isn't what you would call a gaming card. I'll most likely wait to one of the new R600 Radeon X2900 series cards drop in price for the next build. This one was in the budget when replacing the last build on short notice.
