Can anyone recommend a good password-protection program for USB Drives?

I'm looking for a good reliable password protection and file encryption program for my usb thumbdrive. Are there any good freeware ones out there?
If not, what shareware would you guys recommend?

Yes, there is a really good, free ware open source one called TrueCrypt, which has something called traveller mode, that allows you to encrypt your whole USB and open it anywhere you can run the program (which doesn't need to be installed on the system you're using it on).

It also has loads of other cool features, definitely check it out.

Problem with that is you need a USB with U3 on it; you can't just download U3 on it's own.

Oh cool, I did try looking for it to download for my USB but I couldn't find it anywhere, and there was nothing helpful on the U3 site, so I presumed it was locked down proprietary stuff that you couldn't download; if can remember where & how, awesome!
