seems to me like little excess for what you're doing with it, but it looks ok to me.
also, the links are bad. instead of having the full link, i think you copied it with the ... in it.

You're telling that to the guy who wrote PSU101. Dont forget to note that it will be, in fact, enough to power what he's got in the box.

I am sorry, o most high Prætor. *bows exaggeratedly* But what about upgrade headroom?
What about a $650 budget with an X2 and 16MB cache drive for the given requirements. Instead of acting like the 13-year-old you are, you might consider an alternative to annoying the admin with childish antics.

PSU is just as easy to upgrade as any other part in the computer. A case would cost around $24 anyway. For now it like getting a free PSU. When he ready to upgrade he can easily get a new PSU.

What he is getting is a pretty decent computer that he can use now.

So next time why not try thinking it through before saying something instead of looking like a 13 year old child. (my regrets if you really are 13).

Why do you think we used 13? ;) I dont know about you but I fail to see how the system in post1 holds a candle to the one I spec'd in post3 given the requirements. He alludes to (without saying of course) the machine having future upgradability issues however fails to outline the logic behind there (something i'll skip over to lack of maturity) but from a technical point: sure the machine may lack expandability however in 5 years, my box is going to run better regardless -- upgrading the CPU in 5 years will require a new socket and thus new damn-near-everything thus eliminating any advnatage current upgradability has; furthermore without upgrading, my box will outperform it thanks to the fact i managed to crap a dualcore chip in there.
