since i cant find a place to talk about pci cards/graphic cards i ll post here

I have an older computer that still uses PCI as its primary use. But most computers nowadays have pCI E and PCI Express. I dont know if AGP comes before that or after that but its impossible to find any only PCI cards im wondering if maybe i can upgrade my card mainframe or whatever to PCI express...or is that impossible going from PCI to PCI express?

I have also worked with changing the rwsolution to stop the "input not supported" error flash screen but all my changes dont help the issue. Most games on my computer work fine and dont have any issues, flight sim works fine, crimson skies-fine, and all others work without a hitch...but the new games i bought (ie BF2 WOW and others) all have these "input not supported issue and id like to try to get it working....but nothings working so im wondering if i can get an upgrade on my PCI card but it might need an upgrade on my motherboard or whaver you call it!!

PCI<AGP<PCIe (PCIe is PCI Express)

You won't be able to upgrade the slot type because it is part of the motherboard. You'd have to upgrade the motherboard and CPU in order to get the ability to use PCIe.

Ok, a few things to start with:
- PCI-E and PCI Express are the same thing.
- AGP predates PCI-E but came after PCI
- Plain old PCI isn't really very well suited for video cards. They make them but they are not going to perform nearly as well as a similar PCI-E or even an AGP card would.
- There is no way to add PCI-E to your computer without replacing the motherboard.
