Can I burn an old program to my computer to use?

I have some old reading programs that run off of cds. I have a macbook air and the cds are starting to get a little scuffed. They are not made anymore. I was wondering if there is a way for me to burn the program onto my computer as a file so I no longer need the cd.

Most CD burner software has the ability to create an ISO image file of a CD. Once you have the image file, you can then "mount" the image so it appears to your system as a physical disk.

Just create a folder on your pc, then copy and paste the files on the disc to the folder on the pc.
