can i connect 2 towers?

so i am wondering if instead of buying a whole new pc setup with mouse keyboard.... if i can just hook up a new tower to my current one and swicth between them.i want to buy a gaming pc and dont want to deal with the whole new internet and all that stuff.but what i was wondering,again, is if i can just hook up the gaming pc to my current and when i want to play games just switch from my current to my gaming and then back.
and sorry for the lack of detail.im not too good at wording things.

Would you just switch the cable from the monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc.

Seems like that would work. I might be doing that for a little while. it might be a pain but i dont care
 
You can use a KVM (keyboard, Video, Mouse) switch. That will allow you to use one keyboard, monitor, and mouse to run more that one pc. Most KVM's switch between systems by pressing the scroll lock button twice.

I am not sure if that is what you are talking about???
 
there are switch boxes on the market, plug the monitor, keyboard and mouce i one end, and 2 pc's into the other.

axfrinder and stew.that is exactly what im talking about.i currently have a dellb110 and im looking to get a good pc for up to $500. id like to just buy a tower than the whole getup and get a worse computer because i have to get everything else.
what exactly are these switches and stuff?
