I was wondering if the Power Supply in a Compaq DC7100 can be upgraded to something with more watts? I amo not sure because of it's horizontal layout. If someone can please let me know I would greatly appreciate it. THank You.

Id have to say it will be hard to replace it due to its unusual size and the limit of the case. Your best bet would be to contact Compaq.

Some websites sell the special form factor power supplies, but you would need to know what form factor that psu is..and it doesnt appear to be anything standard

It doesn't look like your standard PSU.

Find out the size/power inputs of the mobo (how many pins on the big mobo plug are what you are looking for). It may be plugged in under the PSU, so lift that out to see if it isn't there, i can't see it on the pic. If it is just the stadard 20/24 pin (can't imagine it would be any more on that system) cable and the mobo has your generic screw holes for a mini or atx case (even if it doesn't fill one) you could try getting a new case with new PSU. I'd imagine one that comes with a case would be better than the one in there, so thats about £40-£80, if you aren't usiong £ sterling then google a converter, i don't know the exchange at the moment :P

The IO panel looks fairly standard... It may be possible to do a case swap. That is assuming the power supply is a standard ATX as well and doesn't have some odd wiring for the power connection.
