can I get a new power supply?

MY HP pavilion special edition desktop recently broke 2 days ago.I left it on sleep and there was an electricity overflow in the house(or something like that) that made the power supply pop.I am not sure whether you can just replace the power supply and the computer will work again but that is why I am here.Can i get a new power supply and then my computer will start running again or did all of the components from the computer get fried? only the power supply smelled burnt.if I can get a new power supple what should I get?

Sometimes you are lucky enough to only have the power supply blow, other times it takes other components with it. You really won't know until you get a new power supply and further diagnosing.
