I want to buy a Radeon HD 4670 and I don't know if it fits on my motherboard right now I have a Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS 256 MB. Is this possible? BTW the 8400 GS is a PCI express card.

Yes it definitely will, the older motherboards that have PCI-e will be X16. The 2.0 is double the bandwidth i think? So it runs faster. But the 4670 will definitely be a great upgrade for you!

Yes Im sure, i had the same problem but once i actually bought it the card worked itself. Which motherboard are you using?

I dunno. That's the problem. Also I don't know a lot about this. Thanks for the fast answers BTW.

Haha i do what i can do. Ummmm did you get that pc off the shelf or someone built it for you. I beleive the 8400GS only comes in a PCI-e cardbus.

I didn't build it myself. I think the 8400 GS is a PCI-e 1.0 card or something. This is why I'm not so sure I can upgrade to a PCI-e 2.0 card.

yes the 4670 can still be added but will lose performance. but that doesnt matter i think you lose around 5%? in performance. It's the same slot just the slot doesnt support 2.0 as meaning double bandwidth. But your still able to use the 4670 just not 2.0 speed

Please download PC Wizard from my sig install it and then run it. Go to FILE< SAVE AS and click OK. Then save the text file and copy its contents into this thread. Please also state what Power Supply Unit you have (look inside the case and read the label). Until you do these two things don't buy anything.

The link in your sig doesn't work. Sorry for double post. Downloaded it manually.
