Hi guys it is time to upgrade and after some reading i have picked some parts.
They are the following:
ASROCK Z68 PRO3 GEN3 /Z68/1155
I5-2500K /3.3G/6MB/BOX/LGA1155
CM HYPER 212 EVO
CORSAIR 2x4GB Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz 1.35V
WD 500GB SATAIII Caviar Black 7200rpm 64MB cache
Sapphire HD7950 3G GD5
CM HAF-912 PLUS
Corsair 600W Builder Series CX V2
It will be used for gaming. My question is if anything can be improoved on this build.

everything looks good, maybe an ssd? Or a bigger hdd.
and pick up an ivy bridge, i5 3570k is better then the i5 2500k and it's only 10$ more. If you want to overclock, then you're better off with the i5 2500k.
If you want more future proof or you want to do videorendering and ... Then take an i7.

Well i will overclock but not extremely and i read some reviews which said that it is not really worth the 10bucks but i dont really know. And i also have another question if i need to lower the budget which is the best part to downgrade?Maybe the GPU with a 7870OC.I am playing on 1920x1080

Even a hd7850 will fit, but the hd7870 is more futureproof. You'll be able to play all games at highest for at least 4 years with the hd7870 (no oc). Take the i5 2500k if you want to overclock, less heat problems and it's easyer.

You are building this yourself right? Id drop that 500gb wd black for like an f3 1tb from samsung, barely slower but should be the same price for twice the storage

Get a Z77 motherboard. ASRock make some decent ones. If this is a new build I'd get a 3570K too to go along with a Z77 board.

Or just a cheaper 500gb hdd from samsung and buy a ssd!
Makes your system boot much faster.

So should I get a 7870 instead of 7950 and get a SSD?
7950 would be a better graphics card. Also, you really don't need a SSD unless your after a stupidly fast system. Also note that it is a lot more involved to set the system up with a SSD.

Personally I would recommend a P67 or Z68 board to match teh 2500k or if you want a 3570k (which is by no means worth the $10) get a Z77. Don't get a ASrock if you don't get a high end one. The mid and low range ones are pretty much a shot in the dark as to if you have a good one or not. Gigabyte, Asus, and MSI do not seem to be as bad. Gigabyte especially. Something like the P67-UD5-B3 or Z68-UD3-B3 would be fine.

Are you dead set on the case? You can get better for the same price.

As said you can get a Samsung or Seagate 1TB for about the same price and you have double the space. Also note you will never get what you pay for in a drive. a 1TB drive is 1,000,000 bytes while the computer sees 1TB as 1,048,576 bytes. Just a difference in the HDD manufacturers using a 1000 unit for giga and the OS using the true 1024 unit giga.

So should I get a 7870 instead of 7950 and get a SSD?

I think for a rig purely for gaming you should spend the most you can on the graphics card and worry about an SSD later. If you can get a 7950 go for it.

Hmmm... Z68 with a 2500K or Z77 with a 2500K? Hard call, but I'd say stick to Z68 for a 2500K, no need to worry about BIOSes and stuff then. When I said "get a Z77 motherboard" earlier I meant get a Z77 board if you are going with a 3570K.

you don't get all of the features of Z77 with 2nd generation processors, so stay with 2nd gen chipsets to 2nd gen processors. That way you actually get everything your promised. Don't think that BIOS is much of an issue with a good board though.

Thank you all for the advice! My last question is if the HAF 912 is the best case for its price.Do you think i can get a better one? Also do u think the Gigabyte Z77D3H is worth it?

I guess every forums is different. This forums believes that 10 dollars isn't worth upgrading to IVB when the price balances out since this current gen has motherboards that are cheaper. I would get an i5-3570k and a Z75 Pro3 Gen3. It would be cheaper than Z68+2500k.

We don't even know what resolution hes playing at? That is the first question.

Secondly a SSD investment will be by far the biggest improvement at lower res.

he said already that he plays on 1920x1080...

Do you think i should swap the processor for a i5 3450,get a H77 board and with the saved money get a gtx 670 OC?I looked at spme benchmarks nad the 670 gets 10-30 bonus FPS in games on 1920x1080.
