Can I link a retail game with steam account?

I recently bought Crysis, Crysis Warhead, and Crysis 2 from Amazon because it was cheap. I want to link it with my steam account so I would have all my games under 1 account. The game does not require steam to play so I am not sure if I would be able to play it through steam. I have the actual hard copy DVD's for the games along with the product keys for each game. I just like to have a hard copy with manual and stuff for all my games so that's why I bought them from Amazon. I also checked and steam does distribute those games.

You could try activating it through Steam, but I don't think it will work.

All you can do is link them to steam so you can play them. You can't activate them through steam.

To do this, install and activate the games normally.
In Steam on the bottom left corner you can click add game (in library window)
Specify the location of the game and it will be added to your game list
Now you can click it and hit play in steam.

Sweet thanks! But one quick questions, will I still be required to put the game's dvd when I hit play in steam?

That will depend on the game. If the game requires the disk to play, then nothing you do in steam or otherwise will free you from the disk.

All adding the games to Steam the way mentinoed above is essentially give you a shortcut to the game thru steam. You'll get the overlay and ability to take screenshots and it will show up that your playing a game. But it won't keep track of your time played and it won't show up that you've ever played it to your friends on your profile unless they see you actually getting on to it. Example. "galercon is in non-Steam game Crysis".

Also it will randomly lose your shortcuts of non steam games so it's kinda glitchy to work with for very long.
