Hey ryan
Its a piece of piss to change your cdrw drive on your laptop. Make sure yer laptop is off. On the underside of yer laptop there is a screw that sits towards the back of where your cdrw drive would be. It is usually marked with a padlock symbol. Unscrew it. You'll know its the right one if you can see a small tab below that the screw was holding in place. On some laptops there is a switch marked by an open padlock symbol. If you can see this slide it across and your old drive will pop out the side. If you cant see the switch just put your screwdriver or some other suitably shaped object behind the small notch at the back of the tab and gently push your drive out. Once its released you can safely remove it by hand and slam it intae the nearest bin. Yea!
Just do the same process in reverse with yer new drive and turn yer comp back on. Wait till your laptop recognises the new drive, then you're good to go. Job done bigyin!
Your new drive should be compatible with your laptop but I would seriously recommend you email the drive manufacturer to check before you part with your hard earned cash.
aw the best mate
