Hey guys

I recorded a 5min clip from some forign news channel that i want to bring into collage for a media course. Anyways its in ASF format at the moment and is DRM protected but i need to convert it to WMV or AVI before i can use it for my coursework. Is there anyway to strip the DRM from from the clip ?

If it cant be done then that sux lol :| took me a while to find a clip i could use. Anywho any help would be great thanks.

download this and see how you get on with converting it, it may get rid of the DRM by itself, not sure. DRM sucks, lol

It dosn't work :( saves - "[C://Document and Settings/User/My Documents/news.asf] is not a valid media file" :| stupid DRM grrr :(

The file works in WMP10 fine and plays but in VideoLan its just loads of colours on the image and u cant make anything out so thats the DRM kicking in. But its soo annoying i need to convert it.

That dont work either :( says "file cannot be read because it may be damaged, or it is a DRM protected file" grrr

well, thats the extent of my searching capabilities, ill leave it open to others now, but i doubt they will get you very far, DRM isnt meant to be stripped down, its there for a reson.

your kidding, right dragon?

This thread is completely against forum rules...I could care less whether or not you think "DRM sucks"

Use better judgment next time.
