Can I run two 9800GX2s on an Asus P5N-D 750i?

Thanks mate. I've been googling all night, but I've been getting confused because I'm new to all this. I think I read somewhere that if you configure two GX2s the bandwith in the PCI-E slots drops from x16 to x8 - is that not the case? Are you personally familiar with this mobo?

It will, but you should invest in the 780i. the 750i only runs SLI at x8/x8. while the 780i does full x16/x16

Thing is, the 780i is so much more expensive (at least £70). I don't know if it's worth it.

Maybe I should not go down the SLI route seeing as how the GX2 is very powerful anyways.

If I was to do that, would you say it's better to get the 750i board (because it has PCI-E 2.0), or should I get the P5N-E or maybe the PK5 P35 (which comes highly recommended)?

If you have the money for two GX2's, the price of the 780i shouldn't be that big of a deal? :P

If you only run one, then something like the Gigabyte P35 DS3R would be good. But i would highly suggest the 780i if your thinking about SLI

I don't have the money for 2 GX2s, I'm only buying one, but I'd like the option to be able to SLI in the future.

Maybe it would be best for me to get a cheap but reliable board like the P5N-E or the P5K P35 for now, and upgrade later on when I want to SLI (hopefully by then the price of 780i boards will have dropped a lot)?

The question is: will I be able to make the most of the GX2 with one of those 6 series boards?
