Check my sig below. Can i run this OS? I was told by someone to ask because it doesnt work on all processors. Also would i notice a difference in 32 bit or 64 with my current set up? Also i plan to throw 2 more gigs of ram in would i really notice a big difference?:)
Thanks
Chris

Thax. Also does anyone know if these will caused incompatibly issues with games or anything? Or just drivers?

Yes you can run XP 64 bit but I wouldnt I would just switch to Vista. XP 64 bit is not the best not many drivers out for it and it is not worth getting when vista is out.

i have vista Ultimate 32 bit i hated it it just was a resource hog. That and i had a few issues. Im back to XP pro 32 bit. But i just got a copy for free from a friend of 64 bit Xp pro. I guess what im asking is....whats the difference...for a guy like me that games....whats going to be the difference in the two?

i heard 64Bit xp pro runs alot better and faster than the 32bit version:)

suppose it depends on your system specs though:)

yeah i just got done installing it. Its a bit better. Faster for like moving things and copying files it seems. Haven't noticed faster load times for my games, but i haven't got most install yet.

I don't like XP x64, compatibility issues, Vista x64 is awesome, I went from x86 XP Home to x64 Vista Home Premium, WOW!!

That is the program files for your 32bit applications, games, etc. Not a lot of apps or games support 64bit yet so they go in the x86 folder instead of the regular program files on an x64 OS... So it's not truly 64 bit, it is basically this way, 64 bit OS and the same apps...

Ahh ok. I got scared while installing BF 2142 it poped a warning up that said not tested on 64 bit systems....so i almost crapped a brick, but it seems to work fine.
