Could I put a router and a computer on a hub then have more computers off the router? Still keeping the computer on the outside of the router.

Router : A buffalo WBR2-G54
I dont know what kind of hub yet

Just make sure there isn't a clause in your agreement with your ISP that states you are only paying for 1 IP address, as your independent PC will have its own IP and everything on the router will have another if I am not mistaken. If they notice, and you are only allowed to have one, they may try and charge you more money.

that wont happen, if he isnt paying for more than 1 IP address, he wont get more than one, hence the reason he needs DHCP on his modem

Why wouldn't you run the computer off the router's switch as well? If you are trying to keep the other computers on a separate network put a switch behind the router instead of a hub in front of it

I would eliminate the Hub... Router has 4 ports on it correct? The hub takes more electricity, more configuration, more heat, and more space, an aggravation....

If he did that, could he still route to individual PC's?
