Can I take A retail PC and switch the case on it?

I am not sure if you saw my previous post but i have a HP desktop that i got from my parents and want to turn it into a gaming machine so i want to get a new case psu mobo and i probably need to get a new video card too. I have 3 gigs of ram and it is 240 pin, DDR2 SDRAM

Why not just build a new system?

Basically, I got a lot of money for my birthday and want to put it into my computer. Everything is stock on the hp thats why I plan on buying a new case and then overclocking the q6660 because i here it is pretty easy. The motherboard is a Asus IPIBL-LA which is stock. Would you recommend purchasing a motherboard to go along with the case and if so what one?

Budget?

Your probably going to end up building a new computer.
