Can i transmit the music im playing Upstairs to my laptop downstairs via wifi..?

Hi I was wondering if you guys knew of any software that would allow me to listen in to what my upstairs computer is playing downstairs on my laptop through wif...?

It's actually for a party i want to hear the same music all around the house. any help is appreciated.
 
do you have a home network set up? there are a few freeware audio streamers that will allow you to stream audio over a network but there will be a lag in the audio playing, so you will here the music from upstairs a few seconds before you here the music from the laptop... it will sound awful
 
i have a home network, is ther no faster solution then...

i really dnt wanna have a wire leading all the way downstairs to the hifi...
 
well, you can stream it, as long as you dont want it playing out of both sources, cos as apj101 said, ti woudl sound awful, you can stream it and have it palying on the laptop no problem, bare with me and ill find some fre audio streamers for you.

? i am willing to pay for software, doesn't need to be freeware. :)

is preferable tho :):)
 
research into "shoutcast" there are differnt apps for "server" and "client", its kinda attatched to winamp slighlty, so make sure you have that installed on both machines aswell
